KITTEN CARE

All our kittens are born in the home with the normal noises of family life going on around them. For the first three weeks they are cosy and warm with Mum in a purpose built kittening cube, where she can hide away  if she so wishes, although most of our queens seem to prefer to tend to their babies on a regular basis and then join in family life in between times!!

At about 4 weeks the kittens will start to become more adventurous and then we add a play pen to the box with a climbing ramp, and it is not long before they start to totter down the ramp and into what must seem to them a very strange world.

We start to wean the kittens at this stage onto solid food . Gradually they integrate into the rest of the family both human and feline.

At 9-10 weeks they receive their first vaccination against 'flu, enteritis ,Leukaemia & Chlamydia, and continue to learn all the social skills they will need to go to their new homes.

After the second vaccination at 12-13 weeks they are ready to go to a new family to educate them in the ways and requirements of a Burmese  or Asian!!

Burmese and Asian cats are fun to have as pets they are intelligent and enjoy human contact, but this of course can be their downfall so we advise that they are kept as inside house cats. This is not unnatural and in 20 years we have never had one that has suffered for this policy.
